First day of Habanos Moments started the best way possible; with Havana Club cocktails
and the smoke of Cuaba Distinguidos. In a great mood, with a smile on their face, guests
were enjoying their time at beach bar Borik, one of the most beautiful beach bars Lošinj
has to offer. Having a great cigar while watching the sunset is what life is all about!
SANDY SMOKE EXPERIENCE
3.6.2016.
Second day was more about the adventures. With a boat named “Pirat” we headed
towards unique, sandy island Susak. Deep in the Susak soil, ancient Greek settlements
were buried so we had no choice but to light a Greek 2006 Vintage Cuaba
Tradicionales, celebrating Cuaba's 20th anniversary at the same time.
Wonderful weather, warm sea, hot sand, local island food and ice cold Zdjelarević Rose
and Malvazija wines were the perfect combination.
As Susak was once covered with vineyards, Mr. Davor Zdjelarević, who was one of our
guests, committed to help locals revitalize the wine sorts that once existed only on the
island.
One of the 'hidden treasures' we had the chance to enjoy, was a brandy dated from 1945.
found buried in the backyard of one of the local houses. Our second cigar, classic
Cohiba Exquisitos and the 70 year old brandy were a match made in heaven :)
FROZEN GRAPPA TASTING
4.6.2016.
Our early afternoon started with some 'serious work'. We gathered in one of the most
luxurious villas Jadranka grupa has to offer; Villa Alhambra, for the frozen grappa
tasting. The star cigar for this occasion was Bolivar 681- Bulgarian regional edition
2011., by Kaliman Caribe. Three regional grappas were tasted; istrian ’Demian' by late
Andy Šipetić, Rossi and Geržinić, serbian 'Triumf' by Aleksadrović Winery and 'Sveti
Trifun' by Bovin from Republic of Macedonia.
Habanos Moments originally started with the idea of matching cigars and grappas.
GALLA'S DINNER
5.6.2016.
We’ve all been waiting for Saturdays’ Gala Dinner Atmosphere 50. It was set on the
terrace of the hotel Bellevue. Guests were welcomed by 'Grof', limited edition of
sparkling wine selected for this occasion only. Chef, Mr. Stanislav Simeonov prepared
amazing food as an incredible match to Cohiba Behike 52 and Siglo VI.
After the dessert, friend and a colleague Mr. Norio Hattori from Pacific Cigar, Hong
Kong, hosted an auction for the first from the series of 50 limited “Cohiba 50
Anniversary Siglo” humidors, containing 10 Cohiba Majestuosos. Money collected
was given to finance a cure for a girl suffering from rare lyme disease. Humidor is now in
Teddington, one of the best cigar shops in the world, La Casa del Habano London, under
the ownership of Mr.Ajay Patel.
One of the surprises for our guests was a world premiere of a wonder invention for
sommeliers and those feeling like ones. Live from Cancun, Mexico, famous Cuban
sommelier Yamir Pelegrino Rodriguez, the brain behind this patent, led us through the
use of Spirit by Humidif Group. Spirit is a glass patent designed for cigars, spirit, wines
and its pairing aroma tasting.
As a grand finale, Siglo VI was accompanied by Havana Club Union, limited selection
rum made specially for this very Cohiba. Both Seleccion de Maestros and Havana Club
Union were presented by Pernod Ricard Croatia.
Once more, Colibri kept our Habanos Moments cigars burning, while Poslovni Dnevnik
& Cigar Journal made sure that once again Habanos Moments leaves its mark on the
cigar world map.
